DUBAI | The world’s tallest structure ever built, the Burj Khalifa (originally Burj Dubai) was opened today in the Downtown Burj Khalifa District. The Burj Dubai was renamed today in honor of the current UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan. The tower cost about $USD 1.5 billion. The Tower surpassed the previous tallest building, Taipei 101 in Taipei, ROC Taiwan.
