LONDON (TNC) | British PM Gordon Brown (Lab) has announced his resignation as Labour Party leader (and therefore, Prime Minister). He has announced he is stepping down in order to push for a stable government and a possible coalition with the Liberal Democrats. Gordon Brown’s removal and a possible Lib-Lab coalition would have some negative effects, as leaders’ US-style debates were just held for the office of PM and British citizens would be upset of another unelected party leader. then-Treasury Secretary Gordon Brown assumed the office after then-PM Tony Blair resigned in 2007 after 10 years in power.
